English striker Marcus Rashford faces a harsh punishment. Because he was absent from Manchester United training one day after being in a nightclub.
Rashford missed training on Friday, after his coach Eric Ten Hag told him that he was sick, but other press reports confirmed his presence in a nightclub on Thursday evening, in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland.
Rashford, 26 years old, did not play in the 4-2 win over Newport on Sunday evening, in the FA Cup.
According to The Sun newspaper, Rashford will be fined and deprived of his salary for two weeks, amounting to 650,000 pounds sterling.
Rashford receives 325 thousand pounds sterling per week, after renewing his contract with the club last year.
Rashford flew to Belfast on Wednesday to see his friend Ro Sean Williams, who plays for Larne, with the club’s approval.
Last November, Ten Hag criticized Rashford for going to a nightclub after the 3-0 defeat to his arch-rival Manchester City.
In 2022, he was excluded from the team’s lineup in one of the matches, after being late to a team meeting.
