Scholes rules out Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes claimed that the English club has joined the race to sign Jude Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

It is expected that the 19-year-old will leave his German club in the summer, amid interest from senior Europeans.

During his appearance on BT Sport, Scholes spoke about Bellingham after United drew 2-2 with Sevilla in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Scholes said: “I think United are a candidate to sign Bellingham, and if we go back two years in time, we will say there is no chance, even at the start of the current season.”

Scholes continued: “But the situation has changed now, and he can look at the team now and that he can return to his previous state in the coming years.”

Scholes ruled out Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid, adding: “I’m not sure why, but I hope he comes here and makes United a strong team.”
