The company responsible for the European Super League announced ten new principles in the tournament, which were met with great rejection when they were announced several months ago in 2021.

This came a few days before the UEFA Court of Justice ruled on the tournament, which will rule on whether or not UEFA abused its influence in the tournament.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and many European clubs had announced the European Super League in 2021, but global reactions were against the matter and several teams had already withdrawn.

The principles are to abolish the process of certain teams obtaining permanent places in the tournament, provided that there are 60 to 80 teams each year participating in the tournament, and also call for the inclusion of women’s football in the process of developing European football.

The principles also promoted the idea of distributing sums of up to 400 million euros to clubs not participating in the tournament, and to relevant community works.

Regarding the players and the number of matches, she stressed the importance of preserving them, in addition to enhancing the importance of local leagues, as the basis for the new tournament.

Among the principles, the company also stressed in its statement published on the “X” platform the necessity of respecting all European Union laws and involving the fans in the development process, but it acknowledged the importance of the clubs having the highest say in organizing their own tournaments.
