The Barcelona star is threatened with missing El Clásico

Barcelona is in danger of losing one of its players during the match against Real Madrid, next April 21, in the Spanish League.

Barcelona issued an official statement to announce the final diagnosis of the injury to the duo, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

The two players suffered severe injuries during the draw with Athletic Bilbao, yesterday, Sunday, in the 27th round of La Liga.

Barcelona said in an official statement, “Medical examinations revealed that De Jong was suffering from a sprain in the external collateral ligament of his right ankle.”

He added, “While Pedri suffers from an injury to the rectus muscle in the right thigh.”

He concluded, “The duration of the players’ absence from matches will be determined based on the pace of their recovery from injury.”

According to AS newspaper, Frenkie de Jong’s absence from matches will be only 4 weeks.

As for Pedri, he will be away from the field for 5 to 6 weeks, and he is at risk of missing the upcoming confrontation against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.
