Carlo Ancelotti is threatened with 5 years in prison

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti faces a prison sentence of up to 5 years.

According to the Spanish “Relevo” network, the Madrid Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded that Ancelotti be imprisoned for 4 years and 9 months, on charges of tax evasion.

She added that Ancelotti evaded paying more than one million euros to the Spanish Tax Authority in the fiscal years 2014 and 2015, during his first term with the Merengue, as a result of profiting from image rights.

According to the Spanish “Relevo” network, the Madrid Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded that Ancelotti be imprisoned for 4 years and 9 months, on charges of tax evasion.

She added that Ancelotti evaded paying more than one million euros to the Spanish Tax Authority in the fiscal years 2014 and 2015, during his first term with the Merengue, as a result of profiting from image rights.

She explained that Ancelotti concealed the disclosure of his income from image rights, whether from Real Madrid or other brands for various events, by transferring these rights to fictitious entities “outside Spain”, so that he or these companies that lack real activity would not have to pay. Taxes on the large amounts he receives.

Ancelotti returned to lead Real Madrid again in the summer of 2021, and recently renewed his contract until 2026.

Real Madrid is preparing to face Leipzig, this Wednesday evening, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.
